Altar Offering Service

Altar Offering Service
Date: 7th July
Join us for a special Altar Offering Service on 7th July, where we come together to give thanks and seek blessings through our offerings. This sacred ceremony is an opportunity to present your petitions and gratitude to God for various aspects of your life.
Purpose of the Altar Offering
The altar offering can be given for numerous reasons, each representing a significant area of our lives that we seek God’s intervention, blessing, or thanksgiving. Here are some of the categories and reasons for making an altar offering:
- Family Members: Each family member can make an offering for their personal petitions and blessings. For example, if you have 5 family members, each member should present a Kshs 1000 clean note.
- Health and Healing: Present an offering to seek divine healing for long-term sickness or health issues, either for yourself or loved ones.
- Business and Career: Make an offering to ask for God’s favor, prosperity, and guidance in your business or career endeavors.
- Marital and Relationship Blessings: Seek blessings and guidance for marital harmony, finding a life partner, or strengthening relationships.
- Education and Success: Present an offering for academic success, guidance, and wisdom in educational pursuits.
- Financial Breakthrough: Ask for financial stability, debt relief, and provision.
- Personal Needs and Thanksgiving: Any other personal petitions or expressions of gratitude can also be represented through an altar offering.
Offering Details
Each offering is to be made with a single, clean Kshs 1000 note (the highest denomination in Kenya). It’s important to note that each category or reason for the offering requires a separate Kshs 1000 note. For example, if you are making an offering for your business, health, and for each of your 5 family members, you would need a total of 7 clean Kshs 1000 notes in separate envelopes for each.
Biblical Foundation
The concept of altar offerings is deeply rooted in the Bible. Here are a few verses and examples to reflect upon:
Genesis 8:20-21 (NIV)
“Then Noah built an altar to the Lord and, taking some of all the clean animals and clean birds, he sacrificed burnt offerings on it. The Lord smelled the pleasing aroma and said in his heart: ‘Never again will I curse the ground because of humans, even though every inclination of the human heart is evil from childhood. And never again will I destroy all living creatures, as I have done.’”
Leviticus 1:9 (NIV)
“You are to wash the internal organs and the legs with water, and the priest is to burn all of it on the altar. It is a burnt offering, a food offering, an aroma pleasing to the Lord.”
Exodus 20:24 (NIV)
“Make an altar of earth for me and sacrifice on it your burnt offerings and fellowship offerings, your sheep and goats and your cattle. Wherever I cause my name to be honored, I will come to you and bless you.”
